She founded Welly Lai Studio in 2007, a design platform encompassing disciplines that make distinctive environments, brands and lifestyles.
Since its launch, Welly Lai Studio has been featured in New York Magazine, New York Times, Timeout New York, Interior Design, Design Bureau and Home Concepts (Singapore) for their unique take on modernity and for demonstrating a diverse range of innovative designs.
The expression of Welly's inspiration is a balance between functionality and conceptual innovations. Her visions are conceived within spaces that are thoughtful, fluid and always accentuate the unique characteristics of each site.
Welly has been the design principal on many projects in the New York City area. Prior to founding Welly Lai Studio, she was a partner of Station Design, Inc. founded with architect Mark Castellani (RA) in 2000.
Receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts (SVA), Welly earned her Master of Science degree in Interior Design from Pratt Institute.
